A $42m high school upgrade delivered for School Infrastructure NSW through MBB Group as client-side PM consultancy. Michael's first major project — entering as a graduate engineer and stepping into Assistant PM responsibilities over the course of delivery.
Key challenges
Like other SINSW upgrades, the project sat on a live school campus and depended on careful staging of demolition, demountable removals and new-build sequencing around school terms. Risk planning and proactive scheduling sat at the centre of the role — identifying constraints early and surfacing them in TSG and PCG meetings before they translated into programme slip.
Stakeholder conflict resolution was a recurring task: alignment between the school, the SINSW project team, the head contractor and the subcontractor chain had to be re-established whenever scope or sequencing assumptions moved.

Stakeholders included the school principal, SINSW project team, design consultants, the head contractor and subcontractor base. Reporting flowed through weekly PCGs, technical service group meetings and project management group meetings, with budget and schedule tracked through Procore and Microsoft Project.
